"The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society connects people with horticulture, and together we create beautiful, healthy and sustainable communities."

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society is a non-profit whose mission believes horticulture can strengthen communities by increasing access to fresh food, creating healthy living environments, building deeper social connections and growing economic opportunity. With PHS, I assisted the marketing and communications team with various projects. My main tasks included assisting with publicity, research and writing for PHS programs and events. During the 2019 Philadelphia Flower Show, "Flower Power," I managed and operated the media tent. I secured 50 volunteers to assist at the tent and worked with local and international media throughout the week of the Show. I wrote several blogs on gardening trends and topics leading up to and during The Flower Show. With PHS, I also became a Certified Tree Tender. I completed a three-week basic training course and learned about the basics of tree planting, tree care and how to rally communities around the importance of trees.
